30 Mani Marathon Recap!

It took me a little longer than I'd planned, but I finally completed the 30 Mani Marathon! I had a blast creating these manicures, and I hope you also enjoyed following along :)

Here is a quick recap of all 30 designs, just click on the manicure name for more details.

30 Mani Marathon - Manicure 30: Inspired By A Tutorial

The tutorial I have chosen as my inspiration is this Glitter Gradient Tutorial By Lucy's Stash

I began with a base coat and two coats of Nicka K Ripe Apple, and added China Glaze Twinkle Lights for the gradient. I covered that with one coat of Gelous gel top coat, and finished with a coat of Seche Vite.

30 Mani Marathon - Manicure 28: Inspired By A Flag

Finland

This design is pretty straight forward. Two coats of Zoya Liberty, with striping tape in the shape of crosses, topped with one coat of Zoya Tomoko.

Being my first time trying this, I learned that striping tape doesn't stick well to these textured polishes. So I used a nail art brush to touch up the lines that got flooded under the tape.

30 Mani Marathon - Manicure 27: Inspired By Artwork

X-ray Roses

I bought this painting and the one below it several years ago from a man in a van who said he was selling model home overflow. I'm told they are X-rays of actual roses, and they look great over my couch.

I began with Sephora X Cleanse and Base, and added two coats of SX White Matter. I used a nail art brush and SX Radioactive to paint on the leaves, SX Dark matter for the stems, and finally SX in Flashy for the roses. Next I added details to the roses with SX Dark Matter, and finished with SX Top Coat.

30 Mani Marathon - Manicure 26: Inspired By A Pattern

Pink Plaid Pajama Pants

This manicure began with a layer of Sephora X base coat, three thin coats of China Glaze Go-Go Pink, and Sephora X top coat.

Next, I used Bondi Fuschia-istic and Mash-50 stamping plate to create the plaid pattern. Lastly, I added a coat of Seche Vite to seal the design.

30 Mani Marathon - Manicure 25: Inspired By Fashion

For this design, I drew inspiration from the Pantone Report for Fall 2013 and a gold dress.

I painted each nail with one color from the Pantone Report that I had in my polish collection, and a layer of top coat. After letting that dry for a while, I added random patterns with striping tape, added a layer of Zoya Solange, and immediately pulled off the tape.

30 Mani Marathon - Manicure 24: Inspired By A Book

5o Shades of Grey

This design began with a base coat and two coats of Zoya Carey. Then, I used Color Club Dark 'n Stormy to stamp images from a variety of plates (Bundle Monster BM-H22, BM-416, BM-420, BM-425, BM-H18; Shany SH07; Mash 32).

30 Mani Marathon - Manicure 23: Inspired By A Movie

The Color Purple

I chose this movie more for the name rather than the content, I wanted to wear my new Zoya Stevie :p, so I began with a base coat and two coats of this purple polish.

Over that, I chose Zoya Monica and Bundle Monster plate BM-H18 to create the hearts that symbolize the sisterly love between Celie and Nettie throughout the story, that remained strong despite the hardships they both faced.

30 Mani Marathon - Manicure 22: Inspired By A Song

Baby, it's cold outside!

For this manicure, I chose a design with grey skies, autumn leaves, and swirling breeze.

I began with a base coat and two coats of Zoya Carey for the base color. Next, I painted the nail tips with China Glaze Starboard to represent grass. I sealed this with a layer of Zoya Armor top coat, and let it dry overnight.

The next day, I added the stamping. The swirling wind is Zoya Purity + Shany plate SH03, the trees are Konad black stamping polish + Bundle Monster plate BM-409, and the house is Konad black + BM-224.

To create the leaves, I used a tiny dotting tool and alternated dotting Bondi Chasing The Sun, Brick Road, and Horny Mistress. The yellow lights on the house were made with the same tiny dotting tool + Bondi Brick Road.

Lastly, I sealed the manicure with a coat of Seche Vite top coat.

30 Mani Marathon - Manicure 21: Inspired By A Color

I chose OPI Fly as the nail polish color inspiration for this manicure.

I began with a base coat and two coats of OPI Fly. I added one coat of China Glaze Faily Dust, and then a layer of top coat. Over that, I used Konad white stamping polish, and Bundle Monster plate BM-307 to create the butterfly design. Lastly, I sealed the manicure with another layer of top coat.

30 Mani Marathon - Manicure 20: Water Marble

I'm not a fan of water marble, so I chose to try dry marbling for this manicure instead.

To begin, I applied a base coat and two coats of Bondi Brick Road. Immediately after the second coat, I randomly placed dots of Bondi Horny Mistress and Chasing The Sun, and used a small dotting tool to gently swirl the colors together. After letting that dry for a while, I added a layer of top coat.

Next, I chose Konad black stamping polish and stamping plate Mash-48 to create the flame stamps. Lastly, I sealed the design with another layer of top coat.
